Total alkalinity represents the concentration of bicarbonates, carbonates, and hydroxides that buffer pH changes in water. This test determines alkalinity levels to ensure stability and prevent sudden fluctuations in pH.

It’s all about balance. Quickly and accurately determine how much acid or base is needed to reach the desired pH level.
The graphics on the comparator I received are crooked which means the fill lines are also crooked. Delivery was very slow considering the steep delivery charge. At least the reagents have good expiration dates. The kit will serve its purpose but quality control could be better especially from a company with Taylor’s reputation.
